The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning (2007)

In this rousing prequel to the celebrated 1979-1985 TV series, The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning, we're taken back to the dust-drenched origins of the iconic Duke boys, Bo and Luke, played by Jonathan Bennett and Randy Wayne respectively. These mischievous teenage cousins, notorious for their reckless driving and illegal possession of fireworks, are sent on parole to the sun-scorched, rural Hazzard County, an unnamed southwestern state, to live with their gruff moonshiner Uncle Jesse, portrayed by Willie Nelson. Their journey intertwines with the life of their plain-Jane cousin Daisy, played by April Scott. An orphan like them, Daisy seeks to carve out her own place in the world, her path leading her to join the boys in their new home. Uncle Jesse, a moonshining maverick struggling to keep his farm afloat amidst a sea of unpaid mortgage installments, recognizes the boys' unruly driving skills. He enlists their help, setting them as his runners to deliver his 'special' White Lightning whiskey across the county in a revamped, orange-painted 1969 Dodge Charger, christened 'The General Lee'. However, their moonshine-fueled escapades soon catch the attention of the county's corrupt city commissioner, the cigar-smoking J.D. 'Boss' Hogg, masterfully enacted by Christopher McDonald. Boss Hogg, the bigwig of the small neighboring town and the county seat capital of Hazzard, sees the Duke boys as a challenge to his reign, making it his personal mission to thwart their operations and seize Jesse's farm. With the formidable Boss Hogg on their tail and the law close behind, the Duke boys, along with Daisy, must outwit their adversaries and save their home. Will they manage to steer clear of danger, or will they fall prey to the machinations of the ruthless Boss Hogg?
