In the shadowy realm of the underworld, Akira Sato, known as 'The Fable', is a killer of legendary stature. The gruesome tale of his past, marked by the death of five men four years ago, lingers like a haunting specter. But, following the directives of his enigmatic boss and the weight of overwork, Akira trades his blood-stained gloves for a more ordinary existence. Now, he lives incognito as an ordinary sibling alongside his partner, Yoko, their lives intertwined in a delicate dance of deception.
Finding refuge in the mundane, Akira secures a part-time position at the design company Octopus, working under the unsuspecting gaze of CEO Takoda and co-worker Misaki. His former life as an assassin remains a well-guarded secret, wrapped in layers of fabricated normalcy. Yet, the placid surface of his new life belies the sinister undercurrents swirling beneath.
Unbeknownst to Akira, a nefarious plot weaves its web in the background. Utsubo, a representative for an NPO, collaborates with contract killer Suzuki in a murky scheme of setup and extortion. Their insidious operation sets its sights on an unsuspecting target at Octopus, drawing Akira's peaceful world back into the crosshairs of danger.
