Set in the frigid heart of Greenland, 1951, "The Experiment" traces the ambitious journey of Gert, a dedicated nurse turned headmistress. Entrusted with the care of 16 handpicked Greenlandic children, she labors to shape them into ambassadors of a new era. These children, freshly returned from a year steeped in Danish civilization, stand on the precipice of a grand experiment designed to alter the course of their homeland's future. The Danish state, in the shadow of destitution and disease left by WWII, casts its hopeful gaze on Greenland. The orphanage, a beacon amidst the icy wilderness of Nuuk/Godthåb, is set to nurture these children into Danish prototypes, hoping to instigate a cultural metamorphosis.
