The Disappointments Room (2016)

After the tragic death of their young daughter, David and Dana find a new life with their surviving son Lucas in the middle of the country. Everything seems idyllic at first, but Dana begins hearing noises in the attic and then discovers that there's secret room hidden away up there. She comes to learn that this was once known as a "Disappointment Room" — a place where disabled or otherwise unsuitably "proper" children could be kept with no one knowing. Dana can see the spirits that still haunt this house, but her family doesn't believe her and she's not sure she believes in herself.
