The Damned (2014)

In the heart of Bogota, Colombia, American David Reynolds, a recently widowed father, prepares to journey back home with his fiancée Lauren and daughter Jill. Their mission: to retrieve Jill's forgotten passport from her aunt Gina's house before they return to America for David and Lauren's impending wedding. Alongside Gina and Jill's boyfriend Ramon, they embark on a road trip, only to be detoured by a police warning of a flooded road. Ignoring the caution, Gina persists, leading to a harrowing accident that leaves their car overturned and Lauren with two fractured ribs. Stranded in the desolate wilderness, they stumble upon an ominous hotel, eerily abandoned since 1978. Reluctantly, the enigmatic owner Felipe provides them shelter. As the group settles in, curiosity gets the better of Jill and Ramon, who discover a chilling sight - a girl named Ana Maria, confined within a wooden box. The sudden return of Felipe sees him panic-stricken and subdued by David. His frantic warnings about Ana Maria threatening to destroy his family are dismissed, erroneously assuming Felipe to be a pedophile. However, as an unsettling darkness begins to descend, they soon realize their grave mistake. Their refuge becomes their prison as they grapple with an ancient evil they unwittingly unleashed. The Damned delves into a haunting tale of a family's desperate struggle for survival against an unimaginable terror they themselves have set free.
