Half a decade has passed since Laura and Carmilla triumphed over the apocalypse, a victory that transformed Carmilla from an eternally damned creature of the night into a genuine, living human. The duo now reside in a quaint Toronto apartment, where Laura sharpens her journalistic prowess and Carmilla grapples with her newfound mortality. Their idyllic life, however, is shattered when Carmilla exhibits disturbing signs of reverting back to her vampiric nature — a newfound craving for the crimson nectar of life and an involuntary penchant for biting — just as Laura is plagued by surreal, spectral dreams. To combat this ominous, otherworldly threat, the pair must reassemble their old Silas University comrades, embarking on a perilous quest to safeguard humanity — and Carmilla's humanity — from an unseen, supernatural menace.
