Plot

In the vibrant world of children's literature, McGrath is a renowned publisher, with Uncle Bump being the golden goose among their bestsellers. However, the man behind Uncle Bump, Greg, is a troubled soul, known for his affinity for the bottle and a regrettable lack of progress on his upcoming book. Enter Martha, a talented illustrator who wins a contest to bring Uncle Bump's next adventure to life, only to find herself entangled in Greg's chaotic world. Their first encounter is a whirlwind of eccentricity, as Greg, with his unconventional methods, intoxicates the unsuspecting Martha. Concerned yet determined, John, the middleman, hatches a plan to keep Martha on board by introducing Danny, a juvenile delinquent masquerading as Greg's son. This staged spectacle of familial pressure is designed to evoke empathy and commitment from Martha. Initially, the scheme seems to work. However, the plot thickens as it is revealed that Greg is nursing a broken heart, devastated by his former love, Tillie. Amid the madness and the make-believe, Martha emerges as a ray of hope, a potential balm for his emotional wounds. As the story unfolds, it's up to Martha to mend a broken heart, tame a rebellious faux-son, and bring Uncle Bump's next adventure to life, all while keeping her own sanity intact. Will she be the one to help Greg forget his past and rekindle his passion for storytelling? The Bride Goes Wild is a rollercoaster ride of emotions, chaos, and unexpected bonds.
