Plot

In the gritty underbelly of 1971 society, a series of chilling murders set the stage for a sinister mystery waiting to be unraveled. When the hedonistic Maria Zani meets a grotesque end, her ex-husband, insurance broker Paolo Zani, quickly lands under the scrutinizing gaze of the relentless Inspector Tellini. Each victim is found paralyzed, their bellies brutally torn open by a precise knife, mirroring the macabre death dance between tarantulas and their predator, the black wasp. As Tellini delves deeper into the case, a second murder occurs. Mirta Ricci, a saleswoman with a secret life as a drug dealer, is slain with an eerily identical modus operandi. Paolo, desperate to prove his innocence, hires private investigators who lead him on a deadly chase after the last man to see Maria alive - a shady photographer named Mario. However, in a grim twist of fate, both Paolo and Mario meet their demise before the truth can be unveiled. Unraveling the tangled web of clues, Inspector Tellini discovers an envelope addressed to Franca Valentino with Mario, leading him to a shocking revelation of blackmail. But before he can connect the dots, Franca becomes the third bloody signature of the remorseless serial killer. The trail of terror leads the Inspector to a massage parlor, where another victim, Jenny, is discovered wrapped in a plastic bag, her life snuffed out in the same horrifying manner. As Tellini probes into the seedy spa, he begins to suspect that the killer might be hiding in plain sight among the establishment's employees. In "The Black Belly of the Tarantula," every connection leads to a deeper mystery, and each clue uncovers a darker secret. As the body count rises, Inspector Tellini races against time to stop a predator who kills with the cold precision of nature's most ruthless creatures. This tale of suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat, questioning every shadow until the chilling climax.
