Frozen in an icy solitude, 58-year-old Annebärbel stands as a stark reminder of a bygone era. Her life, hardened like a glacier, reflects her cold demeanor as a doctor devoid of empathy and as a wife lacking affection. The only spark of emotion is kindled in her interactions with her overbearing mother, a relationship fraught with disappointment and disapproval, amplified since her daughter took over her medical practice. Fate, however, sweeps Annebärbel off her feet when her husband walks out, leaving her in a chilling vacuum of self-reflection. This propels her on a journey into the frozen depths of her past, where she rediscovers her long-abandoned childhood dream - figure skating. Strapping on her skates with shaky resolve, she steps onto the frost-kissed expanse of the rink, stepping into a world of shivering beauty and cold, stark realities. Her arrival is met with icy glares rather than warm smiles, as people weren't expecting the frosty "Dr. Horrid" to intrude upon their sanctuary. The once-misanthropic Annebärbel must navigate a flurry of interpersonal storms before she finally uncovers a warmth she never knew she craved. On that glacial stage, she strikes up an unlikely friendship with a top-notch athlete, uncovers the zest for life from a band of elderly amateur skaters, and crosses paths with the 1974 World Figure Skating Champion, Christine Stüber-Errath.
