In a future society, those deemed undesirable by society are sent out into the desert to fend for themselves. The newest addition to this "bad batch" is Arlen. She faces trauma almost immediately when she's captured and mutilated by a family of cannibals. Now partly disabled, she's simply trying to navigate the wasteland as best as she can. Under the guidance of a spiritual guru known as The Dream. The group he leads is as much a cult as it is a religion, but it offers the closest thing there is to safety in the wilderness. But Arlen still doesn't know the cost of that stability.
