The Baby's Room (2006)

In the sun-drenched heart of Spain, sports journalist Juan enjoys an idyllic life with his wife Sonia, their lives newly enriched by the birth of their baby. Their joy is housed within an antiquated dwelling in an upscale neighborhood, a house that echoes with the whispers of its past and waits to be restored. A visit from Juan's sister brings an unexpected gift - an electronic nanny to keep watch over their infant's room. As darkness paints the Spanish skies, Juan and Sonia are startled by mysterious voices resonating from the baby's room, a chilling symphony with no visible orchestra. Unsettled, Juan fortifies their home with an alarm system and a baby monitor, tools he hopes will dispel his growing fears. But when the monitor reveals an ominous figure lurking in the baby's room, Juan's fear sharpens into a protective instinct, his hand gripping a knife in defense of his child. Sonia, however, views Juan's actions through a lens of concern for his mental health, leading her to seek solace at her mother's home. Desperate to understand the eerie happenings, Juan teams up with Domingo, a former journalist with a keen interest in the intriguing theory of Schrödinger's Cat and the existence of parallel dimensions. Domingo warns Juan of the house's uncanny ability to ensnare its inhabitants in another world, leaving Juan to grapple with his once perfect life that now teeters on the precipice of the surreal.
