The Aura (2005)

In the bustling heart of Buenos Aires, we find Esteban Espinosa, an epileptic taxidermist with a cynical streak and a meticulous eye for detail. Besieged by solitude after his wife deserts him, Esteban is a man who harbors a peculiar obsession: orchestrating the faultless crime. He believes that the police are too naive to unravel a flawlessly executed crime, while the criminals lack the intellect to pull it off. Armed with a photographic memory and a strategic mind, he's convinced that he alone possesses the aptitude to craft such a masterstroke. When his friend Sontag invites him on a hunting trip into the dense, mysterious forests outside the city, Esteban sees an opportunity to escape his mundane existence. They lodge in a cabin owned by the enigmatic Diana Dietrich and her husband Carlos. However, a disagreement splinters their camaraderie, driving Sontag back to the city and leaving Esteban alone in the wilderness. A twist of fate occurs as Esteban accidentally kills Carlos Dietrich during a deer hunt. Stumbling upon a secluded shed, he discovers a blueprint for a heist targeting an armored truck. The discovery propels him into the murky underbelly of crime, as he crosses paths with the ruthless criminals Sosa and Montero, who are on a relentless search for Dietrich. Suddenly, Esteban finds himself at the precipice of an opportunity he has yearned for. The perfect crime, the one he has meticulously thought of, lies within his grasp.
