Plot

In the midst of societal norms and traditional expectations, lies the unconventional path of Gonzalo Montoya. A thirty-year-old, perpetually single and academically unsettled, Gonzalo is a source of consternation for his mother. Yet, beneath the surface of his nonconformity, he is an intelligent and compassionate soul, who shares an unspoken bond with his cousin Pilar, and a mentor-like relationship with his neighbour Maité's son, Antonio. In a world that values conformity, Gonzalo's independent thought process is seen as a flaw. He has the audacity to challenge the accepted norms, as evident in his refusal to parrot his professor's philosophy, a decision that results in his academic failure. But Gonzalo's defiance doesn't stop there. He embarks on a journey of rebellion, choosing to reject the religion imprinted on him since birth - an act of apostasy. This choice sets off a series of events that mirrors a tortuous Way of the Cross. Gonzalo's audacious decision serves as a catalyst for a profound journey, where tradition and individuality clash in a never-ending tug-of-war. In the midst of societal pressures and personal convictions, the path Gonzalo carves out for himself is one fraught with challenges, yet it is undeniably his own.
