In the vibrant heart of New York City, Tom Collier, an earnest book publisher with a penchant for works of pure integrity, finds himself caught in a romantic crossfire. His lifelong best friend, Daisy Sage, an aspiring artist who has returned from a self-discovery journey to hone her craft, agrees to marry him. However, fate has dealt its hand differently during Daisy's absence. Tom, entranced by the charming Cecelia Henry, is set to marry her, leaving the once platonic friendship with Daisy teetering on the precipice of awkwardness. With his wealthy father, Rufus Collier, approving of the refined Cecelia, Tom's life starts to veer away from his bohemian sensibilities. As months roll by, Tom and Cecelia's marriage settles into a rhythm that dances to the tune of societal obligations and pretentious friendships, leaving Tom yearning for his old life. When Tom reaches out to Daisy to rekindle their old connection, a surprising twist of events leaves him grappling with the repercussions of his choices.
