Plot

Set amidst the backdrop of a wealthy New York family, The Age of Innocence unravels the complex love life of the young Dallas Archer. He is deeply entwined in a forbidden romance with the married Mrs. Armstrong, a woman on the verge of divorcing her unloved husband. His scandalous affair is met with a wall of disapproval from the Archer family, save for his enigmatic grandfather, Newland Archer. Dallas, interpreting his grandfather's silence as a sign of a buried secret, seeks to unearth the truth masked by the family's rumors. It is then revealed that Newland himself was once engaged to the lovely May Welland, but was ensnared by the allure of May's married cousin, the Countess Olenska. Upon her return to New York from Europe, contemplating a divorce from her unloved husband, the Count, the Countess finds an unexpected solace in Newland's love. In this labyrinth of love, betrayal, and societal expectations, Dallas' quest for truth is not just about unmasking his grandfather's past. It is a journey of self-discovery, a desperate attempt to navigate his complicated relationship with Mrs. Armstrong. The Age of Innocence is a timeless tale of passion and the price one pays for it, wrapped in the intricate fabric of high society.
