Plot

Beneath the scorching sun of the Arizona desert, the brilliant but eccentric Professor Gerald Deemer (Leo G. Carroll) finds himself engrossed in audacious growth hormone experiments, driven by the noble cause of magnifying the world's food supply. When his scientific accomplice is shockingly discovered deceased in the barren landscape, the cause is a mysteriously accelerated disease that typically plods along years, yet in this instance, ravaged his body in mere days. The enigma of this peculiar death intrigues the local physician, Matt Hastings (John Agar), who, along with Deemer's newly arrived and strikingly attractive assistant, Stephanie "Steve" Clayton (Mara Corday), delves into the puzzle that is gradually unfolding. As the desert starts revealing gruesome remains of cattle, a chilling hypothesis emerges - all fingers point to a monstrous tarantula as the perpetrator. This colossal arachnid, a sinister byproduct of Deemer's experiments, lurks in the shadows, ready to weave a web of terror across the once tranquil desert.
