Plot

In the whimsical world of 1918, a jovial, carefree man known as The Sport finds himself at the crossroads of love and luck, armed with nothing but charm and the last dime in his pocket. His path intertwines with that of a young woman, newly employed to scrub the steps of a grand house, their unlikely meeting catalyzed by a bar of soap. An immediate spark kindles between them, yet their budding romance faces an immediate challenger: the endearingly awkward Simplex Joe, who has already secured a date with the young woman. Undeterred, The Sport boldly decides to shadow the pair on their picnic date in the park, a decision that plunges him into a delightful chaos. The park, a vibrant canvas of diverse characters, teems with a lovelorn woman, desperately seeking affection, and a police chase involving escaped convicts, further complicating the love triangle. As The Sport navigates this maze of emotions and encounters, he must decide how best to spend his last twenty-five cents. Will he win over the young woman or will his journey wind through more unexpected turns? "Take a Chance" is a charming, effervescent exploration of love, luck, and the serendipity of life.
