Plot

Once the crowning jewel of Sandusky, Ohio's vibrant gay community, the illustrious hairdresser, Pat Pitsenbarger, now finds himself confined within the sterile walls of a nursing home. However, when the town's doyenne and ex-client requests his hairdressing prowess for her final appearance, Pat seizes the opportunity, escaping his dreary existence armed only with his dazzling array of jewelry. Embarking on foot, he navigates the town he once ruled, paying tribute at the grave of his dearly departed partner, whose love still burns fiercely in his heart. A chance encounter with an old admirer results in a flamboyant wardrobe transformation, an echo of his former glitz and glamour. Returning to his old haunt – the gay bar where he once reigned supreme as the drag queen 'Mr. Pat,' – he discovers it's their swan song too. As he immerses himself in the revelry, he rekindles the embers of his once vibrant youth. However, old wounds resurface as he confronts the resentment he harbours for his protégé and the client who deserted him in his hour of need when his partner succumbed to AIDS. Swan Song is a poignant journey of love, loss, and the enduring power of self-expression, as seen through the eyes of a man who refuses to let the world forget his sparkle.
