Plot

In a daring act of self-sacrifice, Lois Lane offers herself as a hostage, finding herself entangled in a mid-air skirmish between her relentless captors and the mercurial Supergirl. The tension is cut short by the arrival of the indomitable Superman, who rescues the day with grace and strength. As the dust settles, Lois—aware of Superman's true identity—tries to persuade Clark Kent to publicize their relationship, a conversation interrupted by a meteor alert. Upon intercepting the meteor, Superman uncovers a robotic entity, defeating it before activating its beacon and delivering it to the Fortress of Solitude. With the reluctant help of Supergirl, he learns that the robot is a drone, manipulated by the enhanced cyborg Brainiac, a former Coluan scientist who subjected himself to rigorous cybernetic and genetic transformations. Brainiac, as Supergirl reveals, had seized and miniaturized Krypton's capital, Kandor, before the planet's catastrophic end, leaving her parents in a desperate search for him that ended in silence. Fearful of Brainiac's further moves, Superman embarks on an interstellar journey to trace Brainiac, only to find him attacking another planet. Despite Superman's resistance, Brainiac captures the planet's capital, firing a Solar Aggressor missile that causes the sun to explode, leaving Superman unconscious and at the mercy of Brainiac's ship. Awakening in an examination room, Superman fights his way through to discover a haunting collection of miniaturized cities. Confronted by Brainiac, he learns of the cyborg's mission to gather data of all the planets he visits before annihilating them. With Superman captured, Brainiac sets a course for Earth, imprisoning Superman in Kandor. Weakened by the artificial red sun within Kandor, Superman meets his uncle and aunt, Zor-El and Alura. Inspired by their indomitable spirit, he escapes Kandor, disables Brainiac's ship, and transports Kandor to Earth. Meanwhile, Lois and Supergirl alert Pentagon of a potential invasion. Despite their best efforts, Metropolis is encased in a bottle, and both Superman and Supergirl are captured. Brainiac, dismissive of Earth's worth, tortures Superman for Kandor's location before planning to destroy Earth. However, Superman escapes, frees Supergirl and stops the Solar Aggressor from causing another disaster. Superman, remembering Zor-El's words about Brainiac's false utopia, crashes the ship into a swamp and engages Brainiac in an intense battle. He forces the cyborg to face the unpredictable beauty of life outside the sterile confines of his digital reality. The physical and mental turmoil proves too much for Brainiac, who combusts into molten machinery and ashes. After restoring Metropolis and re-establishing Kandor on a new planet, Superman finally proposes to Lois, making their love public. Yet, hidden away in the Fortress of Solitude, the remnants of Brainiac stir ominously, hinting at a threat that still lurks in the shadows.
