The Valley of the Wind is the last safe place known to mankind. Enormous and deadly bug-like creatures have infiltrated the surrounding forest. The ocean breeze prevents toxic spores from the forest from poisoning the valley. A giant airplane crashes into the area, allowing the evil Torumekia to invade. Nausicaä must now protect her home, and the environment at large, from destruction.
