Plot

In the bleak shadows of Pittsburgh, a sadistic serial killer resurfaces, ensnaring the city in a chilling grip of terror. The culprit's resurgence spells a personal nightmare for Tom Hardy, a maverick cop with a past stitched into this heinous tapestry of crime. Years earlier, Hardy was the tenacious detective hot on the serial killer's trail, his pursuit thwarted by the evasive phantom. Drowned in disgrace and demoted to river patrol for daring to suggest the killer might be one of their own, Hardy is now confined to the city's sprawling waterways. But the murky depths of these rivers conceal more than just secrets. Bodies begin to surface, each a woman from Hardy's life, each a silent accusation against him. Yet, Hardy is not alone in his watery exile. Jo Christman, his new partner, stands by his side, steering their patrol boat through the treacherous three rivers, their eyes scanning for clues hidden in the churning waters. Together, they embark on an unsanctioned investigation - a desperate race against time in an aquatic labyrinth. Striking Distance delves into a world where trust is scarce, and the line between hunter and hunted blurs. With every new victim linked to him, Hardy must not only unmask the real killer to clear his tarnished name but also confront the demons of his past. This is a tale of relentless pursuit, twisted by dark secrets and punctuated by the relentless rhythm of a city held captive by fear.
