In the tumultuous heart of the Iraq invasion, National Guard Commander Ted Cogan finds himself at the crossroads of duty and disaster. An innocuous van, heedless to the warning signs, barrels towards his site, prompting Ted to order his men to open fire. The aftermath reveals a horrifying truth; an Iraqi family was in the van. A desperate attempt to save a young girl ends in cataclysm, plunging Ted into a coma and claiming the life of his friend and neighbor. Upon recovery, Ted returns to the warm embrace of his family, only to find himself ensnared in a chilling web of spectral encounters and debilitating guilt over the deceased family. As he grapples with these restless apparitions, Ted's financial constraints hamper his quest for medical assistance, with the government proving equally unhelpful. In the midst of this spectral storm, one apparition reveals itself as Jake Witzky, urging Ted to discern the spirit's demand. The stakes rise when Ted's son, Max, is gravely injured in a car accident that claims the lives of his girlfriend, Sammi, and their friend, Luke. It's in this moment that Ted uncovers the tormented soul's desire for justice. With his son's life hanging in the balance, Ted finds himself in a race against time to appease the restless spirit and set things right.
