Plot

The tranquil town of Montgomery County is violently shaken from its tranquility when a chemical plant on the outskirts detonates, releasing a lethal toxin into the air. Within moments, this quiet haven transforms into a grisly nightmare as residents begin to display frightful mutations, metamorphosing into ravenous zombies. A military quarantine swiftly descends, turning the town into an inescapable death trap, its survivors abandoned and ensnared within the crimson zone. In the midst of this pandemonium, we find Jim, an ordinary man caught in extraordinary circumstances. On what was supposed to be a normal day, he and his fiancée Emilie find themselves fleeing from the horror engulfing their hometown. Despite their desperate escape, tragedy strikes in the form of a car accident, leaving Emilie fatally wounded and dying in a forsaken farmhouse. As Jim grapples with his loss, a glimmer of hope emerges - a phone call from a man named Scott, inviting him to a nearby tobacco warehouse. With nothing to lose, Jim embarks on a treacherous journey, navigating through the flesh-eating hordes to reach the relative safety of the warehouse. Here, he encounters Scott, his wife Julie, and the peculiar and standoffish Alex, known as "Ix". In this odd company, Jim finds an uncanny sense of camaraderie. As the days roll on, their bond strengthens, fueled by their shared hope of rescue by the marines. 'State of Emergency' is a chilling tale of survival, friendship, and the human spirit's relentless fight for freedom amidst the most horrifying of circumstances.
