Plot

In the dramatic whirlwind of 1950's London theatre, Eve Gill, an ambitious young actress, finds herself entwined in a deadly game of love and deceit. She provides sanctuary to her fellow actor and secret infatuation, Jonathan Cooper, who's on the run from the law, suspected of a heinous crime – the murder of his mistress's husband. Jonathan's mistress, the renowned actress and singer Charlotte Inwood, basks in fame's spotlight, her secrets shrouded in the darkness backstage. Jonathan insists his only crime was attempting to aid Charlotte in obliterating incriminating evidence, casting her in the starring role of the real culprit. Compelled by a blend of infatuation and the scent of injustice, Eve decides to delve into the dangerous undercurrents of this mystery. With the reluctant help of her eccentric father, Commodore Gill, she conceals Jonathan within the labyrinth of their home while she sets out on her daring mission. Adopting the guise of Charlotte's temporary dresser, Eve navigates the glamorous yet treacherous world of the theatre, her heart and determination set on unmasking the truth. Meanwhile, her father orchestrates a cunning plan to trap Charlotte into a confession overheard by the inspector on the case. As Eve skirts closer to danger, she crosses paths with the detective in charge. A spark ignites between them, her heart now entangled in a confusing web of love and loyalty. 'Stage Fright' is a riveting exploration of concealed truths, unrequited love, and the lengths one is willing to go for justice. As Eve delves deeper into the mystery, the stakes rise, and the line between the stage and reality blurs, turning her life into the most dangerous performance of all.
