Plot

In the heart of the 1950s, a film was forged, not in the glow of the typical Hollywood spotlight, but in the captivating dimensionality of 3-D. "Son of Sinbad," delayed for two full years due to a clash with the conservative PCA over revealing female costumes, finally surfaced when the 3-D fascination was ebbing. The film, however, lost none of its luster, with Sally Forrest and Mari Blanchard's performances proving that they were indeed tailor-made for this format. The narrative unfolds as Sinbad, the audacious offspring of the legendary sailor, and his loyal companion Omar, find themselves shackled in prison, punished for their imprudent fascination with the Kalif's harem. Meanwhile, the city teeters on the brink of destruction as the ruthless Tammerlane the Cruel threatens to raze it to the ground unless it bows to his rule. Simultaneously, Sinbad is on a clandestine quest for Greek Fire, a formidable weapon lost in the abyss of ancient Western history. Comprised of pitch, sulfur, and other volatile ingredients, this weapon was once a terrifying force in naval warfare. Rediscovered by the Arabs and later acquired by European Crusaders, it holds the potential to shift the balance of power. A daring escape plan is hatched and, armed with this rediscovered weapon and the aid of a stunning forty-girl brigade - each a daughter of the original Forty Thieves - Sinbad and Omar rise to the challenge. Their goal? To save their city from the clutches of Tammerlane, and perhaps, win the favor of those they admire. "Son of Sinbad" is a thrilling blend of adventure, romance, and the timeless allure of ancient mysteries, all woven together in a tapestry of stunning 3-D imagery.
