Plot

In a world where the veil of anonymity fuels digital confrontations, Socialphobia delves into the incendiary nature of social media interactions. A defiant woman who dares to challenge men on Twitter suddenly becomes a public nemesis, her identity ruthlessly exposed by vengeful young men who go as far as appearing on her doorstep. They are met with a chilling scene - the woman, MIN Ha-young, has met her end in an apparent suicide. As the investigation unfolds, the film plunges into the murky depths of online identities, and the grim reality behind a woman's life that was lived in the crosshairs of public scrutiny. Caught in this web of intrigue are two aspiring police cadets, Ji-woong and Yong-min, who find themselves entangled in the mystery of Ha-young's death. Their initial interpretation of suicide soon gives way to suspicion of a darker deed, nudging them towards the possibility of murder. Returning to the scene of the tragic event, they strive to unravel the enigma surrounding Ha-young's demise. But as they delve deeper, the film transcends the traditional mystery, revealing a poignant narrative of Ha-young's authentic life and the motives of the two young men in their relentless pursuit of the truth. Socialphobia is not merely an exploration of a death, but a profound commentary on the duality of online personas, and the consequences when the virtual and real worlds tragically collide.
