Plot

In the heart of Paris, famed detective Cassin, known for his relentless pursuit of justice, finally steps away from his world of shadows and secrets for a much-needed vacation. He retreats to a quaint inn nestled amidst the serene landscapes of the French countryside, where he crosses paths with the intriguing daughter of the innkeeper. A spark ignites between them, but her heart is tethered to the neighboring farmer, to whom she is betrothed. She, however, dreams of a different life, a life with Cassin, away from the rustic tranquility, immersed in the vibrant pulse of Paris. As their connection deepens, they find themselves entangled in a web of passion and promise, culminating in a fateful engagement evening. But in the cloak of the night, both the innkeeper's daughter and her farmer fiancé vanish into thin air. The tranquil countryside is shattered by the sudden mystery, echoing with the haunting question: What has befallen the missing pair? With his Parisian world and rural tranquility colliding, will Cassin be able to unravel this enigma? Is his city-honed acumen enough to decipher the secrets buried deep within the country soil? As the detective grapples with personal stakes, he must summon his skills and wits to solve a mystery that hits closer to home than ever. "So Dark the Night" is an enthralling tale of love, disappearance, and a desperate search for answers, where the line between the hunter and the hunted blurs.
