In the desolate expanse of Mexico's northern desert, an American couple and their young daughter Trina relentlessly hunt for a family treasure: diamonds lost in the sands of time. Fast forward, and Trina's parents have met an enigmatic end. Now an adult, Trina remains committed to the quest, dismissing the cautious counsel of Frank, a loyal family confidant. In an unexpected twist, two gringo fugitives, fresh from their daring escape from Matamoros prison, stumble onto the glittering bounty while on their chaotic sprint towards Texas. The convicts cross paths with Trina, coercing her into a ride. Trina, quick to realize the diamond discovery they unknowingly hold, orchestrates a crafty plan to reclaim the precious jewels. As alliances unpredictably form and fracture, one convict attempts to persuade Trina to forsake her diamond-obsessed pursuit. Meanwhile, Frank observes the dramatic dance of deceit and determination from the sidelines. The arid desert becomes a stage for this intense play of passion, betrayal, and the relentless pursuit of buried dreams.
