48 Hrs. (1982)

Detective Jack Cates is on the trail of a murder who's on the run, but time is a critical factor and he's at a loss for where the fugitive could be. But he finds assistance from an unlikely source — the smooth-talking con man who's been released into Cates' parole. Reggie isn't eager to return back to his cell, but they've only been given 48 hours to solve the case. Can two men from opposite sides of the law work together to bring down a violent criminal? And can they manage to do so without strangling one another in the process?
