The Poison Rose (2019)

Carson Phillips has made the unusual career change from football player to private investigator, but he takes to the new lifestyle well. He spends most of him time in late 1970s Los Angeles deep in a bottle and in gambling debt, but he takes a break from his downward spiral to investigate a wealthy woman named Barbara Poole who has been committed to a mental asylum. He discovers that the people behind the facility have their own sinister agenda that involves the mafia. But it's the sudden death of a popular football player that causes the darkest of secrets to come to the surface.
