Fourteen-year-old Tommy Schooner hails from a family where skateboarding isn't just a pastime—it's a way of life. His parents are the proud owners of Modern Skate, a skyrocketing skateboard company on the brink of a major deal with an influential investment firm, led by the formidable Mr. Hoffman. Add to this his sister, a professional skater who is the cherished face of their family business, and even Buddy, their dog, who skates with an enviable flair. However, when Tommy crosses paths with Frankie, the notorious 17-year-old town bully and a deft skater, their worlds collide. After a heated confrontation, Tommy finds himself thrust into a skate competition against Frankie. But, unlike the rest of his family, Tommy didn't inherit the fervor for skateboarding, nor the skills that his sister effortlessly displays. With the competition just five days away, the odds seem insurmountable. Yet, with a combination of rigorous practice, the unwavering support of his best friend Alice, and the companionship of Buddy, his skateboarding pooch, Tommy might just be ready to take on the challenge. As he navigates through this journey, he finds himself on a path of self-discovery, unraveling lessons about integrity that extend far beyond the skate park.
