As World War II rages beyond the quiet corners of England, the sprawling Musgrave Hall, ancestral home of the Musgrave siblings - Geoffrey, Philip, and Sally - is transformed into a haven for weary military officers. The hallowed halls echo with the whispers of convalescing men, some grappling with the spectral remnants of shell shock. Amidst this mosaic of wounded spirits, Dr. Watson gives his services freely, his healing hands a beacon of hope. However, tranquility is shattered when Dr. Sexton, one of Watson's colleagues, is mysteriously attacked, and the body of Geoffrey Musgrave is discovered soon after.
