Plot

In the heart of Brooklyn, within the confines of a quaint townhome, resides 8-year-old Jenny (Violet McGraw), an innocent girl ensnared in the relentless discord between her lawyer mother Maggie (Mamie Gummer) and her artist father, Jeff (Rupert Friend). Amid the isolation, Jenny finds solace in the vibrant world of her imagination, a realm inhabited by her father's puppet creations, the "Grisly Kin". However, this world shatters when a devastating hit-and-run claims Maggie's life, leaving Jenny and Jeff to patch together the fragments of their fractured existence. The storm of their lives worsens when Maggie's father (Brian Cox) initiates a custody battle and their babysitter, Samantha (Madeline Brewer), subtly attempts to fill the void left by Maggie. As tensions escalate, their home morphs into a chilling playground for the "Grisly Kin". These once harmless puppets come alive, visible only to Jenny. What begins as a terrifying spectacle soon reveals a sinister plot, and it becomes apparent that these grotesque entities pose a grave threat to everyone involved. As the line between reality and imagination blurs, and as the motives of these ghoulish creatures unravel, a battle for survival ensues, casting long, ominous shadows over the future of this already beleaguered family.
