Savages (1974)

In the barren heart of a small desert town, we meet Ben Campbell, a young gas station attendant yearning for more than the monotony of his everyday life. His world takes a drastic turn when Madec, a high-powered lawyer with an extravagant lifestyle, enlists Ben's local knowledge for a hunting expedition into the desert's unforgiving terrain. However, the thrill of the hunt is tainted when Madec's bullet finds an unintended target - a hapless prospector. Caught in the crossfire of Madec's fear for his reputation and the chilling reality of his actions, Ben becomes the undesired witness, forced to flee into the relentless desert. The hunter becomes the hunted as Madec turns his sights on Ben, his desperation escalating with every passing moment. Simultaneously, Ben grapples with the hostile desert elements, his survival instincts tested to the extreme. Should he manage to escape Madec's pursuit and the desert's deadly embrace, the challenge doesn't end. He will have to convince the town of his harrowing tale. Will they believe him, or has he swapped one savage world for another?
