Savaged (2008)

Escaping the clutches of her abusive ex, Jeff, Marian Longosi seeks refuge in an idyllic small town, taking up a seemingly serene job as a house-sitter. Her only companion in her new life is a curiously eccentric canine with a peculiar set of habits. The town, initially a haven of tranquility, gradually unveils its hidden perils. A rogue black bear sends shivers down the spines of the townsfolk, and a chilling discovery of a mutilated corpse raises the stakes even higher. Meanwhile, Jeff, relentless in his pursuit, leaves no stone unturned to reach out to Maria, casting a sinister shadow over her newfound sanctuary. As Maria grapples with these mounting threats, she begins to question whether her canine companion may be more than just an oddball pet. Is this seemingly harmless creature her protector in this perilous paradise, or does it harbor a menace far greater than anyone could fathom? The one cardinal rule of this peculiar house-sit: Never let the dog out after dark! Will Maria unravel the enigma of her canine companion, or will darkness consume her newfound peace?
