In the quiet corners of a rural hometown, young Oscar finds himself committing a noble act of violence to protect his best friend, Loux—murdering her abusive father. This act of profound consequence forces Oscar to flee, leaving Loux behind. He descends into the pulsating heart of the nearest city, where he is swept up by a band of child street thieves. His childhood innocence gradually fades, replaced by a hardened knowledge of love, crime, and the twisting tendrils of corruption. 15 years morph Oscar from the hunted to the leader of this motley crew of lost children. His past life, once vibrant and tangible, has all but evaporated in the city's smog. Meanwhile, Loux, seeking a better life, moves to the same city. She finds herself working for a gruff private investigator, wrestling with the city's underbelly in her pursuit of stability. In a twist of fate, she stumbles upon an antiquated missing child report—Oscar's. The boy who once saved her life has become a ghost in the machine, a faded name on a forgotten document. Yet, ignited by the flame of their shared past, Loux dares to dive into the city's shadowy corners, vowing to unearth the boy who once meant everything to her. The path she embarks on promises to intertwine their destinies once more, pulling them back into a dance they started a lifetime ago.
