When Christina absconds to Melbourne, ensnared in a liaison with the brother of Romulus's closest friend, Romulus grapples with despair, contemplating a replacement wife from his homeland. Navigating through a labyrinth of poverty, adult mysteries, and the onset of adolescence, Rai yearns for a stable home. The absence of his depressive mother casts a looming shadow, but it is in these uncertain times that an unbreakable bond crystallizes between Romulus and Raimond.
