Plot

Bathed in the dazzling lights of Manhattan, "Roger Dodger" paints a humorously insightful portrait of the modern man's ego, lost and battling in the trenches of the single life. Roger Swanson, a brilliantly cynical advertising copywriter, wields a razor-sharp wit and believes he's mastered the art of charming women with his manipulative ways. His world, an intricate web of smooth talk and casual encounters, however, starts to crumble when he's blindsided by a visit from his green-around-the-ears nephew, Nick. Nick, a sixteen-year-old from Ohio, comes bearing an unusual request - he seeks guidance in the complex art of seducing women, hoping to dispel his teenage awkwardness and virginity once and for all. Roger, intrigued by the challenge, plunges Nick into the intoxicating wilds of New York's nightlife for a crash course in love and lust. Meanwhile, Roger's own love life takes a hit. Joyce, his lover and boss at the advertising agency, terminates their relationship, citing Roger's manipulative behavior and lack of maturity. This sends Roger on a journey of self-discovery, as he navigates the tumultuous waters of romance and manipulation. As the night unfolds, the seemingly invincible Roger learns that he's not as wise as he thinks. He's the one in need of a lesson about what women truly desire, and what it means to be a man in the intricate dance of relationships. A captivating tale of arrogance, wit, and the trials of the human heart, "Roger Dodger" is a compelling exploration of the male ego in the battlefield of love and life.
