Plot

In the heart of France, the Wabash Indianians, led by Huckleberry Haines, disembark at Le Havre for a season at a Russian nightclub. However, the club owner, Alexander Petrovitch Moskovich Voyda, mistakenly anticipates an Indian band and promptly cancels Haines' contract. Undeterred, the group ventures to Paris, accompanied by John Kent, a football player and friend of Haines. John, seeking to leverage his Aunt Minnie's influence for the band's benefit, visits her thriving fashion house, Roberta. There, he encounters the charming manager, Stephanie, and an immediate spark ignites between them. Meanwhile, Haines reunites with his old friend Liz, now known as the singer Comtesse Scharwenka. With her assistance, Haines secures a job with Voyda, giving the band a new lease on their musical life. In an unexpected turn of events, Aunt Minnie passes away, bequeathing Roberta's fashion empire to John. Despite his unfamiliarity with the fashion industry, John decides to partner with the resourceful Stephanie, entrusting her with the future of Roberta. Their partnership thrives until Sophie Teale, John's former flame and a notorious gold digger, re-enters the picture, causing a ripple in the harmonious duo. Unable to bear the sight of John with another woman, the heartbroken Stephanie considers leaving Roberta and embarking on a journey with the Russian Prince Ladislaw. "Roberta" is a riveting tale of music, fashion, and romance, interwoven with the intricate threads of love, heartbreak, and ambition. It's a journey through Parisian high society, where unexpected alliances form, old passions reignite, and dreams take flight amidst the glamour of couture and the rhythm of music.
