Rishtey (2002)

In a vivid tale of love, deception, and resilience, Rishtey (2002) tells the story of Suraj Singh (Anil Kapoor), a humble middle-class wrestler who falls head over heels for the affluent Komal (Karisma Kapoor). Despite the vehement disapproval of Komal's haughty father, Yashpal Chaudhary (Amrish Puri), who despises Suraj's lack of wealth, the couple defiantly ties the knot, dreaming of their perfect future together. Komal's pregnancy sparks a fleeting reconciliation with her estranged father, leading to a planned meeting between Yashpal and Suraj. As time passes, Suraj crosses paths with the spirited fisherwoman Vaijanti (Shilpa Shetty), who not only becomes a motherly figure for his son but also develops a deep affection for Suraj.
