Plot

In the remote corners of Newfoundland, Dave's life languishes in the doldrums. His wife resides in Washington, D.C., his dreams for his restaurant, the Auk, have crashed and burned, and solace is found at the bottom of a glass. However, his eccentric neighbor, Phonce, injects a dose of chaos into Dave's life with a precarious proposition - selling ten kilos of found cocaine. In a cunning scheme to anchor Dave to their quiet inlet, Phonce fabricates a sighting of a rare bird, inciting a flock of bird enthusiasts to descend on their hamlet. Unexpectedly, the Auk begins to flourish, transforming from a ghost-town eatery into a thriving hub of birdwatching fervor. As Dave navigates his newfound prosperity, he spirals into the grip of the cocaine and becomes entangled with a vibrant young visitor assisting at the Auk. Simultaneously, Phonce is immersing himself in a submarine adventure, while suspicious figures who bear an uncanny disinterest in birds start to infiltrate their quiet community. As the pressure builds, will Dave and Phonce manage to hatch a Plan B before their world comes crashing down like a house of cards?
