Benjamin Barker is a successful barber in Victorian-era London. He has a beautiful wife and sweet infant doctor. His life is happy and complete until an evil judge intervenes by trumping up fake charges that get Barker sent off to an Australian penal colony. In the meantime, the evil judge takes possession of Barker’s wife and rapes her. She commits suicide in despair. Barker returns to London after 15 years under the assumed name of Sweeny Todd. He discovers the sad fate of his wife and begins plotting the brutal revenge murders of all those who wronged him.
