Plot

Living the high life amid New York's fashion elite, the glistening world of Helen Harris (Kate Hudson) brims with runway shows by day and vibrant club scenes by night. However, her dreams are abruptly shattered by a single phone call that reshapes her glamorous reality. Suddenly, she finds herself entrusted with her late sister's children - the sophisticated fifteen-year-old Audrey (Hayden Panettiere), the adventurous ten-year-old Henry (Spencer Breslin), and the sweet, innocent five-year-old Sarah (Abigail Breslin). Helen, the epitome of a Manhattanite, is uprooted to the less-glamorous landscape of Queens, swapping late-night dances for early-morning school runs. Her life now revolves around packing lunches, bedtime stories, and the daunting task of navigating the world of parenting. The once coolest aunt in New York City, Helen grapples with her transformation into a sudden mom. Her older sister, Jenny Portman (Joan Cusack), is ever-ready with advice, casting an experienced yet critical eye over Helen's struggles. Amid the chaos, Helen finds an unexpected ally in the handsome and compassionate Dan Parker (John Corbett) - the pastor and principal of the children's new school. Raising Helen is a heartwarming journey of love, loss, and unexpected responsibility. It is the tale of a woman torn between her past life of carefree glamour and her newfound loves - the children she is tasked with raising. The movie explores how the most profound transformations often come from the most unexpected places and how love can bloom in the face of adversity.
