Plot

A.J. Raffles, the suave gentleman thief and first-class cricketer, has the art world abuzz with his audacious escapades. Known as the 'Amateur Cracksman', he whisks priceless masterpieces from under the noses of the authorities, only to gift them to retired actresses as tokens of admiration. His most recent caper involves the theft of an Old Master painting from the National Art Gallery, a daring act that sends ripples through high society and makes front-page news. But Raffles' life takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with Gwen, the enchanting sister of his old school chum. Their reunion sparks a forgotten flame, and Raffles finds himself yearning for a more honest existence. The two are soon entwined in a weekend visit to the opulent country estate of Gwen's parents, Lord and Lady Melrose – a gathering that also includes Inspector MacKenzie of Scotland Yard, hot on the trail of the elusive Amateur Cracksman. Meanwhile, the shadows of the Melrose mansion hide another threat: the burglar Crawshay. But Raffles, ever the cunning strategist, manages to twist the situation to his advantage. However, Inspector MacKenzie's suspicions are aroused, triggering a tantalizing game of cat and mouse. Amid the grandeur and danger, Raffles must navigate his dual life, his newfound love, and a tempting necklace – all while evading the relentless pursuit of Scotland Yard. 'Raffles' is a thrilling ride that whisks viewers into the world of high-stakes theft, deceptive games, and unexpected romance, keeping them on the edge of their seats until the very end.
