In the icy grip of a Montana winter, a young man is discovered unconscious at the controls of a wrecked car, not far from the Canadian border. The trunk hides an ominous secret, a lump of weapons-grade Uranium. He is swiftly swept away into the shadowy depths of a high-security prison where, despite months of relentless interrogation and torment, he reveals nothing but a string of indecipherable curses in an alien language. Unexpectedly, he offers his captors a cryptic sequence of numbers and letters. These turn out to be precise coordinates for impending Supernova explosions.
