Pride and Glory (2008)

In the heart of New York, the Tierney family, a lineage of proud men serving the NYPD, find themselves embroiled in a turbulent storm of duty, family loyalty, and the grim shadows of corruption. Francis Tierney Sr., the patriarch, carries the weight of being an Assistant Chief, while his eldest son, "Franny" Tierney Jr., commands the 31st Precinct in Washington Heights. The younger son, Ray, a once vibrant detective, has retreated to a seemingly serene desk job in Missing Persons following an intense "incident" in the field. Jimmy Egan, Francis's son-in-law, patrols the streets as a sergeant under Franny's watchful eye. The family is far from unscathed by their chosen profession; their personal lives are as battered and bruised as the streets they police. Francis drowns his sorrows in alcohol, Franny juggles duty and the heartache of his wife's battle with cancer, and Ray's marriage crumbles under the strain of his work. The shot of a 911 call reporting gunfire disrupts their delicate equilibrium, leading to the tragic death of four of Franny's officers. Despite Ray's unresolved emotional trauma, the patriarch Francis pushes him into the task force investigating the officers' deaths. This assignment, Francis believes, could restore their tarnished family name and propel Ray back into the ranks. However, as Ray delves into the investigation, he uncovers disturbing hints of police corruption, a toxic secret that threatens to shatter the family unity and their shared creed of brotherhood. Meanwhile, the hotheaded Jimmy finds himself entangled with a menacing lowlife, raising suspicions about his involvement in the precinct's corruption. As the lines between duty and family blur, the Tierney men are forced to confront their own demons. Will the pursuit of justice bring redemption or ruin to the Tierney clan?
