Point of Entry (2007)

Veteran Detective Miles Porter, haunted by the unresolved murder of his goddaughter Cindy in Arizona, willingly hands over his badge, dedicating himself fully to the pursuit of justice. As Porter delves deeper into the shadows of the case, on the sun-drenched coast of California, the Alden family—Richard, his wife Kathy, and their son Sam—relocate to the secure confines of Hidden Glade Estates. The traumas of a past burglary still cling to Kathy, and they hope this fresh start will offer them the peace they seek. The Aldens are warmly welcomed to the neighborhood by the charismatic Caleb Theroux, a handsome book illustrator whose charm is as captivating as his illustrations. Kathy, still grappling with her past, finds comfort in the company of the recently divorced Brianna Fine, while young Sam finds an unlikely friend in Caleb. The Alden family, once shattered by their past, start to heal under the Californian sun. However, beneath the surface of this idyllic community, secrets start to unfurl. Kathy's mistrust of Caleb's temper grows, and she finds herself questioning her husband's fidelity, suspicions that Caleb seems all too eager to fuel. Meanwhile, thousands of miles away, Detective Porter stumbles upon a lead that could crack open Cindy's case, the repercussions of which might ripple all the way to the seemingly tranquil Hidden Glade Estates.
