In the grip of a nefarious criminal web, the quiet hamlet of Topee becomes the focal point of a high-stakes chess match between the U.S. Government Department of Justice and a cunning gang of counterfeiters. Tim Hayes, a seasoned agent, is dispatched with the mission to infiltrate this underworld. The counterfeiters, led by the calculating Sharpe, have pulled a masterstroke, kidnapping government engraver Pat Doyle, coercing him into creating counterfeit bills to flood the market and feed their greed. Tension escalates as Doyle's fiery daughter Joan arrives in Topee, camouflaged as a Spanish dancer, and unwittingly ensnares Tim, mistaking him for a member of Sharpe's gang.
