Plot

Vibrant and tough yet endearing, 12-year-old Micky navigates life in the safe haven of his grandmother's house, along with his younger siblings. Their world takes an unexpected turn when a meteorite crashes into their backyard, igniting a fantastical belief that it's a celestial gift from their deceased parents, believed to be residing among the stars. This mystical rock, however, is seized by the government and entrusted to a local university, sparking the children's relentless quest to reclaim what they believe is rightfully theirs. Their journey intertwines them with an endearing, yet socially awkward scientist at the university, who unexpectedly finds a corner of his heart warmed by the determined children. This tale of celestial claims and earthly ties is further complicated by the presence of Pete, a street-savvy ex-junkie and best friend to the children's late parents. Running from the mob due to unpaid debts, Pete is embroiled in a dangerous game of cat and mouse, barely eluding a hit while wrestling with his promise to protect the kids. "Pete's Meteor" weaves a tale of resilience, belief, and the pursuit of dreams, set against the backdrop of a world where the mundane meets the mystical. This narrative is a testament to the innocence of childhood, the power of promise, and the lengths one will go to protect what they hold dear.
