Papillon (1973)

This film is a half biopic and half fiction of two men in prison on an island in French Guyana. They become friends and start to make plans for an escape. Henri is a safe-cracker who was accused of killing a pimp, which he says is false and Dega is a wealthy counterfeiter. They make a plan using their skills and resources to help each other, but as they work together, they become friends which makes them change their original plan. Others on the island prison have their own ideas that sometimes conflict with Henri and Dega, so they have to overcome many challenges if they want to escape.
